We are providers of some of the fantastic Saebo products for both upper and lower limbs.
For those of you who are not aware of the development of these products the company started out as innovative upper limb orthotic providers, which basically means they developed devices to help with the rehabilitation of the arm! Historically, those clients who have suffered a stroke would find the rehabilitation of their upper limbs much slower than their lower limbs and part of this was because they did not have a functional hand to be able to then use the rest of the arm. The SaeboFlex, SaeboReach and SaeboGlove are all devices which fit onto the arm and using a system of springs/bands allows the client to open and close their hand functionally and therefore start using their upper limb. To see them in action and to find out more please visit the Saebo website at www.saebo.com/about.
They also provide the SaeboStretch which is a flexible hand splint for those clients who may have difficulty getting their hand flat or stretched out because it tends to want to curl inwards, making a fist. These splints are great because they allow some movement towards flexion (towards making a fist) so as not to damage your fingers but they will then automatically push your hand back out into a stretch once they have "relaxed", therefore avoiding any long term muscle shortening in the hand.
More recently Saebo have developed the SaeboStim and the SaeboStep products, an SES (Sensory Electrical Stimulation) device and a foot-up brace respectively.
